Cthulhu Invades Cyber Space // 13th February 2011 // 18 notes
Welcome to our web site. It is a poor representation of the actual space, because the bar itself is the experience, not it’s online presence. Remember reality? So this site is strictly for information, not entertainment. There will be occasional blog entries and announcements, but you will have more fun by simply just coming.
The bar is for like minded people who are connected by the world of horror. That is why there is no sign on the door; we don’t want everyone coming. This may be frustrating to you negative Yelp critics, because you are actually helping us filter out the tourists. Thank you.
The Lovecraft is not a goth bar, or a metal bar, or a gay bar, or a pagan bar. It is a horror bar that caters to all of the above. Tuesday is metal night. Thursdays and Fridays are pretty gothy. Weds caters to psychobilly and experimental noise bands. Sunday is karaoke. And Saturdays are for dancing. The bar welcomes the crusty gutter punks to Anne Rice crowd to the gamers to the cute librarians. Just respect it. If you can’t respect the diversity, you will be asked to leave. Like any other establishment, we reserve the right the right to refuse service, and that is your fault, not ours.
The area is the Bermuda Triangle for DUIs. The cops expect it based on the amount of bars in the neighborhood. Please be responsible and don’t take chances. They are watching. And please if you want to do your other vices or habits, do not do them on the property. For our own protection we will have to eject you, and we know when you are doing it (men don’t usually all crowd into a single person bathroom to pee together) Noise complaints from neighbors will ruin your party, so don’t kill your own scene. Outside be aware your behavior is being observed by neighbors and cops, use your head.
We hope you enjoy our environment for what it is; a dark sanctuary. Whatever music you listen to, or whatever you wear, we read the same books and love the same movies. So that yuppie sitting next to the black metal guy next to the anime girl probably all love Bruce Campbell, and that makes us what we are; horror fans.
Thank you and enjoy.
